Meet Valentyna, we are so excited to feature her for March 2024!
Headshot of Valentyna from Zagadka

1. How long have you been creating and how did you get started?
My name is Valentyna and I am the owner of Zagadka. It’s my mom and I that work on the projects that we have. We create fiber arts that include hand embroidery, crochet, and macrame. My mom does the crochet and I do the rest. We both have been creating for a few years and love it. Creating is like therapy for us!

2. What is/are your favorite Surebonder product(s):
My favorite is the fine tip mini hot glue gun (H-195F), but am dying to try the wireless glue gun (CL-195F).

Check out Valentyna's favorite glue gun, Surebonder's original detail tip mini glue gun and the one she wants to get, the cordless version:

3. What inspires you to create?  What do you love most and what is the hardest part about the creative process?:

I enjoy every part of the process, and honestly it just depends sometimes the creative process at the beginning is the hardest to think of what to make and other times it is a little hard to focus on doing the work. Just depends on the mood.

4. Who’s another maker you admire and what do you love about their work?:
Sophie Timms from Mindful Mantra Embroidery, I love the softness her work has.

5. How do you manage and overcome creative burnout?:
To take healthy breaks. And now I know when I need to step back if things aren’t going my way. I don’t always do it but I try my best!

6. Have you experienced a fail? How did you work through it and what did you learn?:
Yes, I have tried implementing something in my business that got no interest or reaction. I had no choice but to keep going. I took a break for my head to get into the right mind space and kept on trucking.

7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?:
Don’t be scared that something may go wrong. Just start and you will learn and get better with time.

8. What’s next for you? (a new project? a new technique? a new venture?):
Developing patterns and teaching instructions. I can’t wait to show people how I do what I do.
