Meet Laura

This month, we are thrilled to shine the spotlight on a returning maker, Laura from Bellas Flowers, as our Maker of the Month for November 2025!

From her Texas home studio, Laura has turned her love for paper flowers into both an art form and a mission — to help others find confidence and joy through creativity. As a stay-at-home mom of two and Chief Creative Officer of The Paper Line at Maria Treto LLC, she’s teaching makers everywhere that passion and persistence can grow something truly beautiful.

Join us in celebrating Laura as she continues to inspire others to create, teach, and let their creativity bloom.

Now it's time for a little Q&A

We've asked Laura to share her story and some insights she's gained along her crafting journey. Let's get into it!

1. How long have you been creating and how did you get started?

I’m Laura from Bella’s Flowers, a Texas-based stay-at-home mom of two and the Chief Creative Officer of The Paper Line at Maria Treto LLC, one of the leading wood cutting die sellers for paper flowers. I’ve been crafting for nearly a decade, starting with handmade flower canvases and growing into a full creative business.

Today, I focus on teaching and inspiring others — from moms who want to create and earn from home, to seniors in my community learning the joy of crafting. Helping others discover their creativity and confidence through paper flowers has truly changed my life.

2. What is/are your favorite Surebonder product(s):

My absolute favorite is the Lynn Lilly Surebonder glue gun. Honestly, I can’t live without it! I pair it with the 5-lb box of Surebonder glue sticks, which I purchase at least three times a year because running out of glue is not an option in my world. It gives me peace of mind knowing I always have it stocked and ready for any project.

Laura swears by the Lynn Lilly Special Edition Cordless/Corded Mini Glue Gun with Detail Tip, a tool that combines beauty, precision, and performance. Her top tip? Pair it with Surebonder’s extra-long mini glue sticks to craft longer, smoother, and reload-free sessions.

3. What inspires you to create? What do you love most and what is the hardest part about the creative process?:

What I love most about the creative process is the transformation — taking something as simple as paper and turning it into something beautiful and meaningful. Every flower reminds me that something small can grow into something amazing, just like my own creative journey.

The hardest part is finding balance. Being a mom, business owner, and teacher all at once can be challenging, but I’ve learned to give myself grace, take breaks when needed, and always create from a place of joy, not pressure.

4. Who’s another maker you admire and what do you love about their work?:

I truly admire Karina from Eina's Blissful Bowtique. Her discipline, tutorials, and balance between family and business inspire me. She shows that with passion and heart, you can grow your business while still being present for the people who matter most.

5. How do you manage and overcome creative burnout?:

Honestly, nothing a trip to your local craft and an iced coffee can’t fix! When I feel stuck, I take a break, browse for inspiration, watch my favorite show, or clean my craft room. Once everything’s fresh and organized, my creativity flows again. A clear space always brings a clear mind.

6. Have you experienced a fail? How did you work through it and what did you learn?:

Yes! I’ve had plenty of failures, but I’ve learned to embrace them. Like I tell my daughter, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but every loss teaches you something. Each setback has made me stronger as a creator and a mom, reminding me that growth comes from patience, practice, and persistence.

7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?:

Don’t be afraid of mistakes! That’s how you learn and grow. Look at your work like a customer would, and keep improving. Believe in yourself, stay focused, and keep practicing. Everything takes time — even paper flowers — so never stop creating what makes you happy.

8. What’s next for you? (a new project? a new technique? a new venture?):

I want to grow my paper flower cutting die line and show more women how easy and life-changing cutting dies can be. They save time, create new opportunities, and prove that with the right tools, anyone — especially stay-at-home moms — can succeed.
