Now it's time for a little Q&A

We asked Lauren to share her story and some insights she's gained along her crafting journey. Let's get into it!

1. How long have you been creating and how did you get started?

I'm Lauren Quigley- a lover of color, sparkly things, kombucha, thrifting & red lipstick. I'm a military spouse that moves all over the country but I currently reside in GA with my hubby, four awesome kids and pug puppy, Luna. I have always been a creative person but my first love was ceramics- now I quite literally CREATE IT ALL- From freehand embroidery, beadwork, sewing, upcycles & DIY, polymer clay, painting- seriously, the list goes on and on.

2. What is/are your favorite Surebonder product(s):

The cordless mini hot glue gun and XL mini glue sticks! I love that I don't have to change the sticks so frequently and can have freedom of movement to create.

3. What inspires you to create? What do you love most and what is the hardest part about the creative process?:

I draw inspiration from everywhere, like nature, fashion, nail & cake/cookie art, home decor- my mind can see something and immediately I think of multiple colorways, variations, etc and I have the intense urge to make them all. The hardest part of the creative process for me is not having enough time to make all the things in my head.

4. Who’s another maker you admire and what do you love about their work?:

Hmmm, I would have to say Rachel Burke because she also loves sparkly things and uses attainable mediums to create such cool pieces!

5. How do you manage and overcome creative burnout?:

Take breaks. Lots of music and screen free time. Seriously- GET OFF YOUR PHONE. Scroll less, CREATE MORE. Not everything needs to be recorded and that's something so important I've learned.

6. Have you experienced a fail? How did you work through it and what did you learn?:

A fail? You mean a learning moment? ALL THE TIME! Actually, some of my "fails" are my favorite things haha. They lead to more and better ideas. Give me more fails and I'll show you growth.

7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?:

Don't compare yourself to others ever. I always compare my art or creations to my past work- then I see that amazing growth and transformation. I do this not just in creating but in other parts of my life as well. I always strive to be better than I was previously and offer grace to my past selves, haha.

8. What’s next for you? (a new project? a new technique? a new venture?):

I've always LOVED sewing, I once had an Etsy shop where I sold my handmade boho baby clothes, but I recently got a new machine and I'm excited to make new things.
