Now it's time for a little Q&A

We've asked Rebecca to share her story and some insights she's gained along her DIY journey. Let's get into it!

1. How long have you been creating and how did you get started?

I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember, but I’ve spent the past 10+ years focused on DIY, crafting, and home projects. I got started by making simple décor for my home, which quickly grew into a passion for teaching & inspiring others how to create with confidence. I love to build and design beginner-friendly DIY projects, craft décor, and functional pieces that make homes feel warm and personal. My goal is to empower people, especially beginners to pick up tools, try new techniques, and discover how fun and achievable creating can be.

2. What is/are your favorite Surebonder product(s):

My absolute favorite is the mini cordless glue gun. 😍

Rebecca’s Top Pick

For DIY projects and creative details, Rebecca loves our Mini Cordless Glue Gun (CL-195F). The precision tip helps with careful application, while the cordless design allows for more freedom and flexibility while creating.

3. What inspires you to create? What do you love most and what is the hardest part about the creative process?:

I’m inspired by simple, hands-on creativity that helps people turn everyday spaces into something meaningful and personal. I love taking basic ideas and turning them into approachable projects that build confidence, especially for beginners. What I enjoy most is the process of problem solving and transformation, taking an idea and making it real, then seeing others feel empowered to try it themselves. The hardest part is slowing down and refining ideas so they are clear, doable, and truly helpful for others to recreate.

4. Who’s another maker you admire and what do you love about their work?:

I love Lilly from the Creative Heart Studio! She has a talent for breaking down ideas in a way that makes people feel capable, even if they are just starting out. Her work is intentional and approachable, and she inspires me to slow down, create with confidence, and enjoy the process over focusing on perfection.

5. How do you manage and overcome creative burnout?:

I manage creative burnout by stepping back before I feel stuck and giving myself space to reset without pressure to create. I shift to simple tasks like organizing ideas or revisiting past projects when I need a lighter creative load. I also take breaks from screens and focus on real-life inspiration. Most importantly, I remind myself that rest is part of the creative process, not a setback.

6. Have you experienced a fail? How did you work through it and what did you learn?:

I try not to focus on a “failure” but rather as an opportunity to learn and shift into something awesome!!!

7. What advice would you give to someone who wants to get started?:

Start simple and don’t wait for perfect ideas or perfect tools. Pick a small project and focus on finishing it, even if it feels basic. It’s a learn-as-you-go process, your confidence will build from doing. Pay attention to what you enjoy in the process, not just the end result. Most importantly, give yourself permission to be a beginner. Every creator starts there.

8. What’s next for you? (a new project? a new technique? a new venture?):

Oh!!! I love this! I’m loving the air dry clay moments, so that’s my next crafting adventure!
